Dance is a matter of balance. As is fashion. One note out of place is enough to shatter the magic of lightness.

Giorgio Armani understood this well. He devoted much of his creative energy to the world of ballet, including his very last: the costume sketches for the sixteen dancers who opened the 68th Vienna Opera Ball were his final work. He did not live to see these shimmering clouds perform, but his artistic legacy in this field was taken up by his lifelong friend, the étoile Alessandra Ferri, now artistic director of the Austrian ballet company.
