Reading With… Rust of the Road
To write is to give voice to what so often remains in silence: uncomfortable yet true stories, with the hope of leaving a mark on the heart and mind of those who read
For me, writing means giving voice to what so often remains in silence — uncomfortable yet true stories — with the hope of leaving a trace in the hearts and minds of those who read, because every story is a bridge between the personal and the collective. The aspiration is to draw people closer by generating awareness.
After more than thirty years in the State Police, confronted with the tragedies of the road, I still ask myself whether I am doing my part to the fullest.
There is one question in particular that haunts me: has anyone taken care to explain to our young people what it means to be cut by the rust of the road when choices are made without the right awareness?
